Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between IV and oral vitamins?
IV therapy provides rapid delivery of vitamins, fluids and nutrients into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive tract. This allows for 100% absorption, compared to 20-50% absorption that oral supplements provide. This also eliminates the gastrointestinal and digestive issues that can occur with taking oral vitamins.
How often should I get IV therapy?
While this does vary from person to person, people generally benefit from receiving IV therapy every 2-4 weeks for general health maintenance.
For skin lightening, it is most beneficial to receive IV glutathione 1-2 times per week for 5 weeks. After this, opt to receive an IV every few months for maintenance.
For hangovers, food poisoning, or acute sickness, generally just 1 or 2 IV drips is enough to cure symptoms.
NAD IVs must be administered at least 4 weeks apart.
Who can receive IV therapy?
IV vitamin therapy is generally low risk, so it is safe for most people to receive. However, people with kidney disease, heart disease or heart failure should not receive IV therapy. People who are pregnant or breastfeeding can receive IV therapy, however they must have a customized drip to ensure safety for mom and baby. It is also recommended to get confirmation from your doctor first if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Are there any side effects?
Generally, IV therapy is safe and comes with minimal side effects, if any at all. However, although rare, there is a risk of bruising or redness at the injection site, infection and swelling. Some people may feel dizziness, lightheadedness or nausea after the IV is inserted, but we take every precaution to avoid this. Some may feel a headache the next day, but this generally resolves quickly. All IV drips are made and administered by trained healthcare professionals, and every precaution is taken to mitigate these risks. We are always happy to answer any questions or concerns.
